Website Copywriting for SEO
One of the key elements of any successful website is the copy. By successful, I mean that the website copy is easy to read, drives visitors to take an action, and is search engine optimized.
Most websites have only 1 or none of the above. I call the copy on most websites ‘fluff copy’. It sounds pretty, but it isn’t persuasive and it doesn’t’ capture the attention of consumers or search engines.
If you want your website copy to work for you, it has to be all of the above. Writing website copy for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) requires a little research into which keywords are most appropriate for your business and your desired results. Once you create your list of desired keywords (words or phrases you want your website to show up for in search results pages), they must be skillfully woven into captivating copy on your website.
The right keywords on your website will achieve higher search engine positions. However, be warned, the amount of keywords you weave into your website copy needs to be balanced, too little and you will get little benefit, too high and you might be flagged for keyword spamming.
